About Me
Hello, I am Jiale Chen and I go by Jerry. I am currently pursuing the Master of Science program in Business Analytics at Columbia University, where I am learning the cutting-edge techniques and tools in statistical modeling, machine learning, and business intelligence.
I am interested in data science and exploring its appplications in different fields, such as finance and sustainability. Having a child living in me, I am ebullient to explore, learn, and grow; I take every opportunity that is presented to me to develop my technical skills while exploring my interests.
I have explored the interface between policy-making, social dynamics, economics, and tech innovations.
- At Rhodium Group, I analyzed how the historic climate investments in the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) are reducing the green premiums for key emerging technologies and accelerating their deployment around the world via quantitative models;
- At NielsenIQ, I analyzed local macroeconomic and FMCG markets with cutting-edge statistical tools to identify sales opportunities;
- At RFCUNY, I contributed to design changes that improved the accuracy of energy-saving calculations by conducting in-depth analyses of energy data and streamlining the measurement and savings prediction process;
- At Center for Discovery and Innovation, I investigated protein-protein interactions in terms of structure, dynamics, and function through computational modeling.
Having shadowed domain scientists from diverse fields and worked with people from various backgrounds, I can synergize different perspectives and have a broader viewpoint on the applicability of data science.
